About Jenny
Jenny trained at Bretton Hall Drama College in Yorkshire and began her professional career in Children's Theatre. From 1973 until 1980, she played continuously in repertory theatres throughout the country, including The Lyceum Theatre Edinburgh, The Liverpool Playhouse and in the West End. During this time, she was awarded the Best Actress Of The Season for her portrayal of Goneril in King Lear. In 1980, Jenny went out to Hong Kong where she lived for 4 years. During this time, she founded a professional theatre company, The Actors Rep, and met Peter Symonds who directed her in Duet For One, the play based on the life of Jacqueline Du Pré. On her return to the UK, Jenny concentrated on her family and only in the last three years has she been able to resume her career. She has featured in The Bill; the acclaimed docu-drama The Murder Of Steven Lawrence and The Greatest Store In The World which was first shown by the BBC last Christmas Eve and again this Christmas. Her latest TV credits include Eastenders and Crossroads. With her ability to make up to look astonishingly like Virginia Woolf, she recently toured for the Not The National Theatre Company and latterly a company set up by herself and long time friend Amanda Waldy, Bloomsbury Productions, the play written by Eleen Atkins, Vita and Virginia and remarked, "This part has been waiting for me for most of my life..." She was first told how much she resembled Virginia Woolf at the age of fifteen by her classics master.
