| Amanda Waldy trained classically at the Webber-Douglas Academy of Drammatic Art, recently played Beatrice in the national tour of Rebecca (to tour again for 8 weeks in the Autumn 2006) starring Nigel Havers. Amanda, or Minty as she likes to be called, is finding her niche in character roles as a very English lady particularly in the area of comedy. In the recent past she has played Vita Sackville-West in Aileen Atkins play Vita and Virginia and is currently preparing work on another side of Vita Sackville-West and Virginia Woolf with actress and long time friend Jenny Tarren called Donkey and Potto. Recently she has toured in the Frank McGinnis adaptation of Rebecca which starred Nigel Havers, probably the most successful tour ever with not one seat going begging for the entire run. Something of a record. | |||||
